Re: A minimal cast distance should be applied onto grenade abilities
The issue at hand is a matter of game design and not balance, so I don't think this is the right forum for this discussion. I mean I don't think grenade spiking makes DAs OP, it's just anti-fun. Though like I said before the problem is more the ridiculous damage of grenades than spiking itself

Re: A minimal cast distance should be applied onto grenade abilities
I agree that it's pretty lame and I also think that grenades should do less damage by design. That said, it's been the way it is for a very long time and changing it at this point would require a lot of other changes to maintain balance. It's a matter of opinion, of course. DoW2 in general likes to ...

Re: Which Chaos commander is best for newbies?
Chaos Lord is still strong, but he's always been popular, and at this point everybody has played against enough Chaos Lords that it's hard to catch people off guard unless you're good about using your worship. He is a powerhouse though, even in teams. 2x CSM can occasionally carry you through t1 and...

Re: Bloodletters hate fire more than heretics?
Bloodletters do far more damage. They can beat dedicated melee with worship support and can wipe setup teams with ease. They can also phase out to nullify damage and heal while phased out (again, worship).

Re: 3v3 - No GK, no Random
To be fair, I was *this* close to doing this back when Rhino was SHI for 6 months. Never actually banned GK but I did end up... y'know, not inviting GK mains to games. Lol Anyway, at this point there's probably a lot of pent-up frustration with GK, and I'd imagine it's worse in lower-level games whe...

Re: How to counter FotM Wraithguard as IG?
Well, there's no doubt that beating WG as IG feels like an uphill battle. But the tools are there, even if they are hard to use. You need to poke and prod the WG a bit with your ranged units. GM (plasma guns if you need them) and assault kit storm stroopers both outrange and outrun WG, which means y...

Re: Tyranid gaunts
Warriors are largely a support unit. They provide synapse, melee synapse, detection, and a guaranteed knockback on attack which can be used alongside hormagaunts and your hero to instantly force off an enemy squad. Their damage isn't bad my any means but the fact that they cause synapse bombs upon d...

The most immediately impressive use of Raptors is to play CS and cast coruscating flames on them while midair.

Those kb abilities should give you a single knockback. To compensate, drastically reduce the cooldown or increase the knockback strength

Cyris if I am not mistaken your math is a bit off
to kill a 650 hp HI rhino you need 650/0.67 = 970 piercing damage
to kill a 500 hp SHI rhino you need 500/0.3 = 1667 piercing damage

Re: Are 1v1 games balanced?
When playing IG I normally go for assault kit storm troopers to counter wraithguard, which should work even better now that wraithguard are slower. God damn I love those guys. Spotters left over from t1 also work wonders, and of course flare if you're LC. Ogryns against eldar seems hard to pull off....

I sometimes go for the t2 fist in conjunction with flak jacket. The high damage per hit of the fist w stubbornness combined with inspire terror can threaten wipes on low model squads, especially combined with things like ol reliable and storm trooper nades.

Like I said earlier, retreat on termies isn't an intrinsically bad idea but something else needs to give, and nerfing shockwave won't be enough imo. If they are that strong, any competent player should be able to win every game unless the opposing player also plays GK, right? Why didn't GK win the last tournament a few days ago? ^ every race has a unit that does damage comparable to shotgun scouts. In the case of GK, just buy operatives, infiltrate them and surprise an enemy with a burst. Re: How to complite my Warlock build?
Warp throw adds enough utility that it might be worth getting even if its synergy with the robe is poor. I do a similar thing with Chaos Lord, where I buy dark halo/combiflamer in t1 and still buy armor of the inferno in t2, just because having the option to roast blobs that get near you is worth it.
