Re: "Rebalancing IG Bionic Eye"

"Immunity to suppression and heals the reamining men to full health." Ok fine I can understand immunity to suppresion but now they are full health what gives? Either it's used at the start of an engagement, in which case it's redundant, or it's used in the middle of it with a critical squ...

Re: Tank Comparisons.

Not only "essentially" immobile, but sometimes also literally immobile. While repairing, some guardsmen outright refuse to move rather than stutterstepping around pathblocking each other in an attempt to get out of the way.

No executioners mentioned? Man, you don't know fun till you end up with triple executioners in a 3v3 vs a team that didn't invest in enough AV. It even has a tendency to get rear armor hits from the front.

Re: DA and Shoota melee seems sky-high

The codex is messed up. One example is the ork shoota ranged dps being higher than tacs, along with other things I can't be arsed to look up.
EDIT: Another I've just found is MoK CSM having their ranged weapons also classified as power melee with the exact same dps and attack pattern as their axes.

Re: 2.8 Non-Consensus Thread (Part 2 of 2)

Once upon a time Rostam also told me about abusing game mechanics especially about suppression. Narrow designed maps allow for parking set up teams to shut down a single important path way. In those kind of maps, factions that are better than the other at playing around set up team stand off game h...

Re: Why is it that some leader updates always die last?

What about the sternguard sergeant? It's a unique model able to die like any other, though the game recognizes it as reinforces it as if it was another normal model. Is there any chance that the coding shenanigans part of it can recognize a purchased model like that, so that in practice a tac sergea...

Re: 2.8 Non-Consensus Thread (Part 2 of 2)

You'd be counting on RNG for apo to not get chain knockbacked by shee specials, and not end up unfortunate enough to really need the heal right as the apo starts his godawfully slow special. If even knockbacked by shees he still wins due to being a meatshield for shees as tacs shoot them up due to n...

Re: Why is it that some leader updates always die last?

I take it the mechanism the LG has for repurchasable serg/commi/vox has some manner of coding shenanigans that can't be applied to normal squad leaders? Seems too logical a course for it to not have been aplied to squad leaders already.

This part in particular only applies to Chosen Plague Marines. Normal plague marines don't heal the other models of their own squad, as far as I'm aware.

Re: New player, Imperial Guard

The sentinel will be the absolute core of your opening engagements. You can use it to slowly peel health or even models off an opponent that likes to hunker down before he can get enough firepower to kill it past your GM repair support. Since code-wise it's only one single gun, all that damage gets ...

Re: How do you feel about a Mod name change?

You'd need to keep it close enough to the original name so as to avoid the risk of people suddenly getting lost and thinking the mod as discontinued rather than renamed that it'd beat the point of renaming it anyways. Hardly a reason to change it, and if it goes through you'd need to suddenly rename...

Re: 2.8 Non-Consensus Thread (Part 2 of 2)

If it was the damage and knockback alone, the suggestions to increase the damage back would be half sensible, but you still have to take into account that it completely disables vehicles caught in it. Not snare, not disable weapons, but completely immobilize AND leave it unable to even defend itself...

For most people the time for mourning was on release. Everyone could see the writing on the wall. That it's now officially dead is a good thing specifically because it shoots down the incentive for godawful practices. Had it been successful, you know they'd have aimed to develop things that'd be to ...
